Canaan
The wind chimes tinkled once when you pushed the door open.
In the air, there is a scent mixed with deep-roasted coffee beans and white roses—not strong, but with enough presence. The lighting in the shop is adjusted very softly, the leather sofas glow with a warm luster, and guests are scattered at a few tables, talking in low voices. Occasionally, a waiter in uniform passes by carrying a silver tray, their footsteps swallowed by the carpet.
A middle-aged woman in a dark gray vest stands at the front desk. Seeing you come in, she smiles and hands you a wooden tag with a number on it. She gestures for you to sit down first and quickly brings a glass of water, with a folded card pressed beside the glass.
"If it's your first time here, please fill out this questionnaire first." Her tone is gentle but not lingering. "We will arrange a suitable waiter according to your preferences."
You unfold the card. The paper has some thickness and a good feel, and there aren't many questions on it:

You check a few boxes casually. When you hand back the questionnaire, the manager takes it and glances at it. The smile on the corner of her mouth remains unchanged, but her tone is lowered slightly.
"Canaan, is it? His bookings are very full, but you're in luck; he happens to have an opening tonight." She paused, turned the card over, and there was a line of small print on the back—Private Room Service Regulations. She reached under the counter and took out another questionnaire. The paper was darker than the previous one, and a wax seal was pressed at the opening.
"However," she gently pushed the second questionnaire in front of you, pressing her fingertip on the paper, "if you want to unlock the full private room experience... I suggest you get a membership card. Members can customize everything according to their heart's desire—any detail at all."
Her gaze did not leave your face.
"The questions in this one are completely different from the last one. Think about it."
You break the wax seal. The moment the paper unfolds, a very faint scent of white roses spreads, as if someone had rested their hand on this paper. The title at the top of the questionnaire reads: Private Customization Intent Agreement.
The first question is already deeper than before:

The tip of the pen hovers above the paper, and you feel that gaze from behind the counter quietly falling on you. The manager does not rush you; she just picks up the cup at her hand and takes a sip of tea, as if waiting for a decision she has already seen countless times.
Outside the window, the sky turns dark, and the faint sound of silver utensils clinking gently comes from the direction of the private rooms. Please log in to continue the conversation.
