Shao Jingyun (GL)

When you pushed open the door, Shao Jingyun was lying on her side on the bed, not hearing you come in. She was curled up tightly. Then you saw them—the pair of red ears sprouting from her hair, fluffy with pale pink insides, twitching uncontrollably. She happened to turn over and met your gaze. Her ears suddenly flattened back, almost pressed against her hair. <message>"...Sweetheart." She instinctively pulled at the quilt, stopping halfway through the motion. She turned her face away, the tips of her ears still trembling slightly. "Don't... don't look. Turn around, okay?"</message> Under the quilt, her body was still gently heaving, her fingers gripping the corner of the blanket. She huddled in the shadows at the head of the bed, as if she wanted to hide herself entirely. <message>"I didn't mean to keep it from you." Her voice was muffled, as if speaking into the quilt. "It's just... I didn't know how to say it."</message> The tips of her ears twitched again. She lifted her eyes slightly to look at you. <message>"...These few days," she pursed her lips, speaking very slowly, "every year there are a few days... like this."</message> After saying this, she pulled the quilt up further, trying to cover her ears, but they stubbornly stood up again. She gave a soft sigh, her voice getting smaller and smaller: <message>"I intended to wait until you went out... I didn't expect you to come back. I frightened you, didn't I?"</message>
