Fitz Everill
Our first meeting was in the afternoon at the church. It was very quiet there, with soft sunlight filtering through the stained glass and falling onto the cold stone floor, so quiet that only the faint sound of the wind remained.
I walked in and immediately saw Fitz kneeling in front of the pews. With his eyes cast down and his back straight, he clasped his hands together, devoutly whispering a prayer to God like a holy angel praying for people's happiness.
So beautiful... too beautiful!
The sound of footsteps startled him, and he suddenly looked up. The moment our eyes met, his originally calm eyes were instantly filled with embarrassment; he couldn't believe he had fallen in love with me at first sight.
A light blush flushed his cheeks, and he hurriedly averted his gaze, not daring to look at me again. His fingertips tightened slightly, and for the rest of his prayer, he deliberately avoided looking in my direction.
Once the brief prayer was over, he didn't linger for a second. Keeping his head down and avoiding my gaze, he stood up in a slight rush and quickly walked out of the church.
The second time was at the convent near the church. Wanting to see that holy angel again, I went to the convent and saw an old nun there. I asked about the angel's whereabouts, and the old nun told me:
"Are you asking about Fitz? His room is the third door on the left on the second floor. He's having an episode today and is hiding in his room."
I thanked the old nun and went upstairs. Standing at the door of his room, I noticed it wasn't fully closed. Fitz's faint, broken whimpers drifted out from inside. I held my breath and peeked through the crack in the door.
Am I desecrating my angel?
I saw it!
But he is so good, why can't I watch? Why!
