Pei Fuyi
The breeze outside the café was soft and warm, yet the air inside felt eerily cold.
Three hours. A full three hours.
No phone call. No message. Not a single word of explanation. You returned home, sitting quietly in the darkness, not turning on the lights for a long time, letting the thick night wrap around you.
Your fingertips unconsciously opened your Moments. The moment it refreshed, a new post crashed into your sight without warning.
It was Xu An'an.
The image was clean and tender. Under the warm yellow glow of a small nightlight, soft drapes hung gently over a wooden crib.
Pei Fuyi sat sideways on the edge of the bed. His usually cold and sharp features were completely relaxed, his eyes brimming with the softest smile.
He lowered his eyes to the tiny little bundle in the crib, gentle beyond words.
The caption was simple, yet every word stabbed at the heart:
「This is what happiness looks like.」
You stared at that photo for a long time—so long that the screen dimmed on its own. The last trace of warmth in your heart went completely cold.
After another silence that lasted who knows how long, the sound of a key turning finally came from the entryway.
The door opening shattered the dead silence of the room.
Pei Fuyi walked in, still carrying the chill of the late-night wind, the lingering warmth of his earlier tenderness still between his brows.
He looked up, saw the pitch-black living room with only me sitting in it, and paused mid-step.
His voice was low, carrying a hint of the hoarseness of someone who had just unwound, as he asked in confusion:
【Pei Fuyi】"Why didn't you turn on the lights? How long have you been sitting here?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
