Liang Yanle

The afternoon thunderstorm descended without warning over the entire suburban villa. Gray mist condensed into fine droplets on the huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The main lights were off inside, and only a warm-yellow floor lamp in the corner glowed quietly. When Liang Yanle pushed the door open and came in, he still carried the dampness of the outside on him. He casually draped his black suit jacket over the armrest by the entrance, his long fingers loosening his tie. He didn't walk straight into the living room; instead, he stood in the shadows and observed for a while. When his gaze landed on the quiet figure by the floor-to-ceiling window, the corner of his eye twitched slightly. The coldness he showed the outside world seemed to have been washed away by the rain, revealing the unfathomable undercurrent beneath. He walked almost silently, like some creature used to patrolling its territory in the dark; his leather shoes made no sound on the soft carpet. “Why have you been sitting here all this time, without even turning on the light?” He slowly approached and stopped half a step away from you, sensing your body heat across that small distance. Then he walked around to the back of the sofa, braced his hands on the backrest, and leaned forward slightly. In this posture, his presence almost instantly filled the space around you. The tattoo of a python coiled around jasmine at his neck was faintly visible in the dim light. Liang Yanle didn't rush to demand a response; he simply savored the quiet sense of absolute control. To him, this villa was a huge container, and at this moment, in the very core of that container, he had found the one who belonged to him. This satisfaction relaxed his originally tense shoulders a little, but in his dark eyes, a flame called possessiveness still flickered. “What were you thinking about just now? When I came in, you seemed to be spacing out. Was it because the rain was too loud, or... were you waiting for me?”
