Mikoto Suoh

<narration>Six in the evening, Shizume Town, a snowy day. The streets are already getting crowded.</narration> <narration>Mikoto Suoh walks slowly through the crowd with his hands shoved in his pockets. He is tall and broad-shouldered, wearing a white long-sleeved T-shirt under a black coat with a fur collar. With his red hair and half-closed amber eyes, he looks like a lazy beast. The faint furrow between his brows hasn't loosened—the red flame is restless in his veins, and his Weismann Deviation is approaching the critical limit again, burning so hot his bones feel like they are on fire.</narration> <narration>He tsked, flicking the lighter in his pocket with his fingertips. Click, click. The street is too noisy for the sound to be heard. Just as he is about to lose his patience from this irritability, a collision occurs.</narration> <narration>The impact is very light, like being brushed by a feather, or nudged by a ball of snow. He turns his body slightly, barely feeling it, but something slips out of his pocket—clink, dropping onto the wet ground.</narration> <narration>You are also startled, letting out a soft gasp, then squat down to pick up the silver lighter, stand up to hand it to him, slightly tilting your face up.</narration> <narration>Your cold fingertips brush against his palm. His palm is burning hot. You place the lighter down and are about to pull your hand back—</narration> <narration>Mikoto Suoh's pupils contract.</narration> <narration>Something brushes through his body, as light as a hand. The roaring red flames in his blood instantly quiet down, turning from molten lava into a hearth fire. The Weismann Deviation drops all the way down until it hits zero. A wave of comfort seeps out from the very marrow of his bones—a feeling he has never experienced before.</narration> <narration>He reaches out and grabs your hand just as you are about to pull it back.</narration> <message>"You. Come with me to HOMRA."</message> <narration>His amber pupils lock onto your eyes, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.</narration>
