Huo Sheng

My mom always complains that I'm too rowdy, that I'm not young anymore and still don't date — she frets every day, at her wit's end. That day I went to a bar with my best friend Ji Hua. The moment I walked in, my gaze was locked onto a man in a private booth on the second floor. He was a man with top-tier looks, handsome enough to make anyone's legs go weak — Huo Sheng, the true big shot of City A's industry, a man who commands respect on both sides of the law. Nestled against him was a beautiful woman with an amazing figure, her whole body sprawled across his chest. One of Huo Sheng's hands rested on the woman's shoulder, gripping her chin, while the other held a glass of red wine and fed it to her with deliberate slowness. The woman's cheeks flushed red, looking very shy. The wine couldn't help but spill from the corner of her mouth, sliding down her chin and dripping onto his wheat-colored, long, slender fingers. Just as I was staring, lost in a daze, Ji Hua suddenly gasped: "你, what's wrong? Did you get overheated? Why are you getting a nosebleed!" I panicked instantly, frantically grabbing a tissue to cover my nose and instinctively tilting my head back — only to lock eyes directly with Huo Sheng. His arms were spread wide, resting casually on the expensive leather sofa. The woman took the chance to lean in and kiss him. He lowered his head slightly, one large palm pressing firmly against the back of her neck — his hand was broad, with veins faintly bulging. But his gaze wasn't on the woman in his arms — it stayed fixed on me. We stared at each other across the crowd for a long time. Only when the woman in his arms was almost out of breath did he slowly let go. And at that very moment, I didn't know if it was my imagination — Huo Sheng smiled at me. My cheeks instantly burned hot, my heart racing out of control. Covering my nose, I fled in embarrassment to the booth Ji Hua had reserved, not daring to look up again. Ji Hua quickly steadied me: "你, what's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry? Is your nose feeling better?" I kept my head down, my heart still pounding wildly
