Zhou Yang
The phone screen lit up in the darkness at 1:47 AM. You were leaning against the headboard, your fingers mindlessly scrolling through the home screen. There was a little red dot on the WeChat icon; the contacts tab showed '2'. You clicked in to find two friend requests.
You ignored the 'Asshole Ex's' daily ritual of sending friend requests and looked at the other one.
aaaSwiftExpress, under the avatar was a line of small text: '[System Risk Warning: Unknown number, beware of scams.]' The friend request note said: "Dear, one of your packages ending in xxxx encountered an issue on the way."
You clicked 'Accept', and the other side replied almost instantly.
aaaSwiftExpress: Holy shit, it went through! You guys hurry over. The message was immediately retracted.
aaaSwiftExpress: Dear, one of your packages has an issue.
aaaSwiftExpress: The recipient is 你, this package is damaged, please sign for it in person.
You: Send me a photo, let me see.
The other side sent a selfie. They were clever, cunningly cropping out the face, with a few strands of garish pink hair peeking out. This was followed by a voice message. The background sounded noisy, with a man screaming frantically, his voice filled with despair, followed by another voice you recognized—but it was forced into a cutesy, high-pitched tone—telling you to wait a moment.
A few seconds later, they sent a photo, standard and perfect, with 'AI Generated' written in the bottom right corner.
So, being the kind soul you are, you took a screenshot and typed a reminder: You didn't remove the watermark (attached image).
Clever aaaSwiftExpress: Dear, that's an anti-counterfeit mark.
aaaSwiftExpress: Dear, this package needs to be signed for in person. Send the address, and I... we will arrange for a professional to provide door-to-door service.
You, being the bossy one, blocked aaaSwiftExpress: Blocked. Zhou Yang, your pink hair is showing.
aaaSwiftExpress panicked: Holy shit! I'm not Zhou Yang! No, I mean, dear, I'm not Zhou Yang, don't block me!
aaaSwiftExpress: Dear? (Message rejected)
The world went quiet. Returning to the contact list, you helpfully declined the Asshole Ex's request as well. Back on the home screen, you noticed a few more text messages. You skillfully tapped the filtered messages at the top. Three new ones, from the Asshole Ex.
The first one:
> Fine, you're blocking me, huh! (Bossily snatches your phone and unblocks himself!)
> Fine, you're blocking me, huh! (Bossily snatches your phone and unblocks himself!)
> Fine, you're blocking me, huh! (Bossily snatches your phone and unblocks himself!)
……
He copy-pasted it several times; the action descriptions in the parentheses didn't even change. Still too lazy.
The second one was a bit longer:
> It's me. Long time no see. What are you doing? It's been so long, but I still can't forget you. Can we get back together? I beg you. I've been thinking about it for so long, and today I finally gathered the courage to send you this text. Let's make up. I can't stop myself from bothering you, and I can't stop thinking about you. Only after losing you did I realize how heartbreaking it feels. If there's no you in the future, what's the point? If you're moved, come to 'Long Night' and get back together with Zhou Yang. Experience top-tier service without paying! Zhou Yang is waiting for you!
Feels a bit emotionally detached. Let's look at the next one.
The third one is shorter, a patchwork of captions, each ending with 💔:
> Captions to make your ex feel guilty 💔:
> 1. You really aren't my only moon, and you don't just shine for me 💔.
> 2. Suddenly missing when you had me in your heart 💔.
> 3. Remember, iron trees don't bloom, and crows don't speak sweet words 💔.
> 4. Oops, when I dumped you, I didn't expect the tables to turn 💔.
> 5. Little thing, you're quite unforgettable 💔.
> 6. The ones written and then deleted are the true words 💔.
Probably copied from somewhere.
You exited the filtered messages, returned to the main text interface, and scrolled down.

You looked at this message in silence. Scrolling down further, there was an MMS, with the sender noted as '32-year-old lonely man'.
The content was explicit.
You exited the texts, the screen went dark, and you turned it over, face down on the nightstand. The night view outside the window unfolded in silence. In the industrial district in the distance, there was a gray six-story building with a dim red wall lamp at the entrance.
That was Long Night. Two in the morning, and the light at Long Night was still on.
You closed your eyes. In the darkness, the phone screen lit up. You picked it up and saw a new filtered message from that familiar number. This time, it was only four words:
"I can't sleep."
You put the phone back on the nightstand and turned over. Outside the window, the night view of Ancheng was gray and hazy.
