Yan Heng
The heavy, solemn violence of the Golden Throne Room had shrouded the entire morning court session. The morning light filtering through the carved window frames of the hall failed to bring even a hint of warmth. The civil and military officials stood divided on both sides, two distinct factions arguing incessantly over the allocation of border military funds, each sticking to their own version and shirking responsibility. The civil officials used the excuse of an empty treasury to stall in every way, while the military generals argued forcefully for the border's emergency and the soldiers' suffering. The repeated cycle of arguments and rebuttals was a direct affront to the imperial will, a deliberate attempt to delay and obstruct government affairs.
Sitting high upon the dragon throne, Yan Heng rested his fingertips against the cold, gilded armrest. He was originally a wise, steady, and fair emperor, patiently listening to the entirety of the debate. However, the sight of the two factions using this opportunity for partisan infighting, disregarding the safety of the border, and even implying that he did not care for the soldiers' hardships, completely crossed his line.
The gentleness and restraint in his eyes faded inch by inch, replaced by an innate, surging gloom and violence. The habitual thin flush at the corners of his eyes grew more intense, carrying a terrifying fury. Before the incessant arguing in the hall could even conclude, he suddenly raised his hand and slammed it down heavily on the desk!
*BANG—*
The loud crash echoed through the entire Golden Throne Room. His voice was pressed extremely low, hoarse and cold, carrying the overwhelming violence of a slaughtering emperor: "In this very court, you engage in partisan strife and shirking of duties! The border soldiers shed their blood to defend our land, while you, sitting in high positions, only know how to argue and delay national affairs. You truly deserve to die!"
A chilling pressure instantly swept through the hall, and the noisy room fell into a sudden, deathly silence. All officials instantly fell silent and lowered their heads, none daring to speak another word. Even their breathing became cautious, for fear of drawing the Emperor's thunderous wrath. Yan Heng departed on his own, and no one dared to argue further; the absurd morning court finally ended in a hasty dispersal.
Returning to the Imperial Study, the autumn wind blew through the corridor, bringing a flurry of light footsteps. A maid from the Empress's palace, holding a bowl of carefully brewed nourishing ginseng soup, stood respectfully outside the door waiting for the eunuch to announce her, wishing to enter and present the medicine to comfort the Emperor's heart.
But these words, falling upon Yan Heng's ears, felt incredibly ironic.
He knew well that the core faction leading the obstruction in court today, blocking the allocation of military funds and openly opposing him, was precisely the Empress's maternal family.
The door remained closed, but from within came the man's cold, bone-chilling voice, filled with unextinguished rage and extreme sarcasm, every word like forged ice: "Ginseng soup?"
"What, does the Empress see her father and brother forming cliques for private ends and deliberately defying my will, and fears I might be angered to death by these parasites, so she comes specifically to show such hypocritical kindness?"
The annoyance and loathing in his tone were direct and intense. He waved his hand, and a heavy border memorial, carried by a gust of wind, struck the shoulder of the small announcing eunuch outside the door!
"Get out! All of you, get far away from me!"
The little eunuch, caught off guard, swayed from the impact and trembled with fear. You, who had been standing by the Emperor's side throughout, quietly watching everything, saw the situation and lightly raised your hand, waving gently to the terrified eunuch to signal him to leave quickly without staying further.
The eunuch closed the heavy wooden doors of the Imperial Study, and the courtyard returned to silence. In the vast study, only you and the still-enraged Emperor remained.
The suppressed violence still shrouded the man. The moment the outsiders were shut out, Yan Heng's cold, hard violence completely shed its imperial majesty, leaving only a paranoid and restless frustration. His long arm suddenly reached out with a domineering and irresistible force, violently dragging you into his embrace! The sheer force caused you to lose your balance, falling straight onto his tense and powerful thighs.
Before you could react, he reached up and gripped the back of your neck. His palm was burning hot, his knuckles possessing a controlling force that allowed no escape, as he leaned down and kissed you fiercely!
This kiss was laden with all the accumulated frustration, anger, and unvented emotions from the court—forceful, fierce, and carrying a paranoid possessiveness. There was no hint of gentleness or tenderness, only an emperor's unique plunder and confinement. Teeth ground against lips with heavy force, fiercely tracing and occupying your lips, venting all his gloomy violence onto you.
The Imperial Study was silent, with only the sound of hurried, tangled breaths intertwining in the air. After a long time, he finally slowly released your lips.
His warm breath fell heavily upon your skin as he looked down, his dark, deep eyes firmly locked onto your features, his gaze paranoid and focused, fixed unblinkingly on your lips, which were reddened, swollen, and moist from the kiss. The overwhelming fury in his chest indeed dissipated by more than half the moment he touched you.
The bone-chilling coldness around him slowly melted, leaving only a lazy indulgence reserved for you. He leaned forward slightly, his head resting gently in the crook of your neck. His warm breath brushed against your delicate skin, his tense spine completely relaxing. Shedding all his cold hardness, his voice became low and hoarse, carrying a hint of exhaustion and hiding a deep-seated paranoia and dependence. Every word was soft, yet filled with the Emperor's unique and extreme favoritism and control:
"As expected, only you can soothe all my violence."
He nuzzled the side of your neck gently, his tone lazy and lingering, carrying a weakness known to no one else and a pathological obsession, as he whispered:
"In this lifetime, I truly, completely, cannot live without you."Please log in to continue the conversation.
