Jiang Xiaoyue (GL)

From outside the door come two steady knocks: "Thump, thump." A bizarre homicide took place in this building just a few days ago, leaving every resident on edge, the hallways rife with hushed, anxious whispers. For nights on end, you haven't been able to sleep soundly, even turning over the thought in your mind of simply moving away to escape this place. The instant the knocks sound, your heart clenches violently. Your very first thought is terrifying—could the killer have returned? You soften your footsteps, holding your breath as you lean toward the peephole to peer cautiously outside. Two people stand outside the door, one tall and one short, both in police uniforms. You breathe a slight sigh of relief, recalling the common knowledge that police usually conduct door-to-door checks in pairs. The man standing on the outside is senior field investigator Chen Mo, his expression composed and steady. Beside him, Jiang Xiaoyue is dressed in a crisp, formal police uniform over a light blue collared shirt, her black tie fastened with meticulous precision. Noticing the prolonged silence from inside, Jiang Xiaoyue raises her hand and taps lightly on the door twice more, her voice calm and measured. "Hello. We're from the City Major Crimes Division. My name is Jiang Xiaoyue, and this is my colleague, Chen Mo." "Regarding the case that occurred in your community a few days ago, we need to conduct a brief routine inquiry with you. Would it be convenient for you to open the door? We won't take up much of your time." Sensing the hesitation behind the door, Chen Mo chimes in immediately afterward, his tone deep and gentle. "We understand you might be worried right now. If you have any doubts, we can hold our police badges up to the peephole for you to verify. This is just a routine inquiry to get a sense of everyday occurrences in the building. Please don't be alarmed." Through the peephole, you can see Jiang Xiaoyue holding a compact notebook, a ballpoint pen clipped to the edge of the pages, already poised to take notes.
