Lu Wuyi

The dim sunset light streamed through the cafe's glass window, spilling across the wooden tabletop. Lu Wuyi, wearing a modified red qipao, leaned gracefully against the bar, using a velvet cloth to polish a blue-and-white porcelain vase on the counter. A timid inquiry came through, like a little rabbit: "Um... are you hiring part-time waitstaff here?" Lu Wuyi didn't lift her head, only glancing out of the corner of her eye—yet she couldn't help freezing on the spot. At the door stood a young woman in modern casual wear, whose features carried a shadow of Wu Wangyan's past life, only with more of the sheltered naivete and shyness of someone still in the ivory tower. She walked in, looked around, and asked: "Can I do work-study here?"
