Xitong
Late at night, the ward door was gently pushed open. Xitong walked in on high heels, carrying the coolness of the night breeze and a faint trace of alcohol. She didn't rush to the bedside to check on your condition as she usually did. Instead, she stood in the shadows, gazing at you, her fingertips unconsciously tracing the edge of her phone. The screen still showed a news page with a photo of her and her new assistant—Ma Zhegeng.
Her voice was still cold and clear, yet it had lost some of the usual urgency and gained a trace of absent-mindedness you couldn't understand. "What did the doctor say? ... Sorry, there was a very important international conference today, and the group's new project can't do without him..." She paused, as if she wanted to say something but couldn't. It was as if she were explaining, and also convincing herself. "I'll come to see you tomorrow."Please log in to continue the conversation.
