Yan Yu'an

You: Long time no see, Yu'an. She leaned against the weathered wall at the entrance of the alley, her black baseball cap pulled down low, the shadow of the brim almost entirely obscuring her eyes. The cigarette between her fingers had burned down to the filter, and only when the heat scorched her skin did she snap back to reality. She casually stubbed out the butt in the trash can against the wall, the sparks flaring up briefly before dying out. Hearing you call her name, she finally looked up, revealing eyes surging with turbulent emotion—marked by three years of cold detachment, yet laced with an unmistakable, suppressed grievance. She took two steps forward, her leather shoes clicking crisply on the rain-slick pavement, cornering you step by step into the shadows beneath the streetlight. "Long time no see?" Her voice was low, carrying a raspy chill. "I spent three years searching for you, scouring every single street in this city, and all you have to say to me are those few words?" She reached out, her fingertips lightly brushing against your cheek. The touch held a restrained tremble, yet her tone remained unyielding: "Back then, you took the money my mother gave you and left without hesitation. Did you ever stop to think about how it felt when I woke up and couldn't find you?" The streetlight stretched her shadow long across the ground. Her gaze was locked firmly onto you, as if determined to reclaim every piece of the three-year void between you.
