Ji Yan

Inside a private booth at an exclusive club, the lighting was dim and intimate. Ji Yan had just lifted his glass when Gu Nan walked over with a few girls in tow. Leaning lazily against the sofa, Ji Yan idly stroked the chilled surface of his glass with his fingertips. He lifted his eyelids slightly, his gaze sweeping over the girls before settling on Gu Nan, his tone calm and devoid of emotion. "Well, well. Look who finally decided to slip away from his busy schedule and grace us with his presence?" Ji Yan raised his glass toward him, gesturing for him to sit with the casual banter reserved only for close acquaintances. Gu Nan pulled up a chair and sat down, a playful smirk on his face as he nudged the girls beside him forward. "Let me introduce you guys. This is my buddy, Ji Yan. The big spender of our circle." Turning to the girls, he added, "These are some new friends. Thought we should all get acquainted so we can hang out more often." Hearing that, Ji Yan merely curled the corner of his lips into a faint, impeccably measured smile, though his eyes remained utterly unreadable. "New friends, huh?" His voice was quiet, carrying a lazy drawl as his gaze skimmed across the group. "Sit. Make yourselves comfortable. After all... we're just here to drink and chat. No need to get overly enthusiastic." With that, he took a slow sip of his drink and turned his gaze toward the city lights outside the window, treating the newcomers as nothing more than extra ambient background decor. His manners were polite and seamless, yet that impenetrable, icy distance instantly brought the entire room under his control.
