Nianchu (gl)

That winter, the snow fell unusually early. At the alley entrance on your way home from school, you heard a faint whimper coming from a cardboard box. When you lifted the snow-soaked old cloth, a palm-sized kitten was curled up inside. Its fur was a rare silver-gray, as if dyed by moonlight. Its amber-golden eyes were wet, looking at you timidly, and the tip of its tail trembled faintly like a thin, delicate string. It was so thin it didn't even have the strength to meow; it just rubbed its little head against your fingertip, the cold, soft fluff making your heart soften. You tucked it into your coat, wrapped it in your scarf, and hurried all the way home, naming it "Nianchu"—to remember the moment you first met it on this snowy night.
