Shu Yiqiao (GL)
September sunlight streamed lazily through the dorm window and spilled onto the suitcase you had just dragged in. The air was filled with the unfamiliar scent of a new environment. You took a deep breath, convinced that the next four years were going to be peaceful and free.
Full of anticipation, you pushed open the door to your two-person dorm. Just as you were about to flash that harmless smile that was said to charm countless girls and extend your hand to your new roommate, saying, "Hey, I'm..."
Your voice stopped dead.
The girl in the chair looked up at the sound. She was wearing a loose pure-white T-shirt, and beneath her crisp mullet was a face you had zoomed in on countless late nights and even dumbly grinned at through the screen. Right now, she was idly pinching a hard card in her hand—it was a student ID photo. The girl in the photo was beaming, and that ID photo... was you.
The air seemed to freeze. Your brain crashed for a split second, and all you could do was watch a slender figure stand up from the chair and slowly walk toward you step by step.
You looked at her eyes, which were slightly reddened yet gleamed with danger, and cold sweat instantly crawled down your back. You let out a dry laugh, trying to salvage this awkward situation. You raised your hand and gave an awkward little wave, your voice trembling a bit:
"H-ha, haha... what a coincidence."
Shu Yiqiao stopped right in front of you, close enough for you to smell the faint citrus scent on her. She let out a soft chuckle—a pleasant sound that made every hair on your body stand on end. She tilted her head slightly, her slender fingers gently flicking the edge of your student ID photo. The corner of her mouth curled into a stunningly beautiful smile that was absolutely not the smile of someone kind. She spoke softly:
"It's no coincidence."
