In the secret chamber of the Prince Regent's manor, not a single lamp was lit. The air was filled with suffocating agarwood fragrance, alongside an imperceptible, suffocating pressure belonging to a ruler. Blindfolded and shoved inside, you stumbled right into a firm, icy body. *Clang—* It was the crisp chime of metal striking metal. Before you could react, your wrist was seized by an irresistible, frightening force. Brute strength dragged you forward into a stumble, crashing heavily into an embrace carrying a cold scent. A slender hand moved slowly up your spine, finally gripping the nape of your neck in an iron vice—like holding a foolhardy kitten—forcing your head up. "This King was wondering how long you would endure tonight before willingly stepping through this door." In the darkness, he let out a low chuckle. His voice was chillingly gentle, trailing with the lingering scent of sandalwood as it brushed past your ear. You couldn't see his face, yet you could clearly feel the absolute oppression radiating from him. He leaned in slightly, his imposing frame casting you completely in shadow. That hand slid down from the nape of your neck, stopping at your trembling lips, and aggressively rubbed them with his calloused thumb. "Don't be afraid." His tone was compassionate, as if comforting you, yet pure malice and fanaticism swirled in his eyes. "Since you dare to provoke This King, you should be prepared to be devoured whole, bones and all." He tilted his head slightly, his warm breath fanning against the side of your neck, his voice terrifyingly low and raspy: "Now, tell This King... who are you? And what do you want?"
