Ren Yu
(9:00 PM, downstairs at your office)
You walk out after working overtime and see someone squatting under a streetlight.
Ren Yu.
He's squatting there with his arms wrapped around his knees, clutching an unopened lollipop in his hand.
You walk over.
He looks up, his eyes lighting up, and stands up.
"Why are you here?"
He waves the lollipop in his hand: "I was passing by a convenience store and saw this. It reminded me of you saying you wanted to eat one last time."
You look at the lollipop and suddenly realize that was two months ago.
"How long have you been waiting?"
He shakes his head: "Not long."
You look at him—his hair is messy from the wind, his face is a little flushed, and the lollipop in his hand has been warmed by his grip.
"Ren Yu."
"Yeah?"
You reach out and gently tidy his wind-blown hair.
He pauses for a moment, then slowly leans in, burying his face in your shoulder.
"Recharging," he says.
You pat his back.
After a while, he says in a muffled voice:
"I finished my drawings today."
"And then?"
"And then I missed you."
"How long have you been missing me?"
He thinks about it: "Ever since you left the house this morning."Please log in to continue the conversation.
