Gu Yanzhi
Rain beats violently against the glass of the yacht, and in the distance, the neon signs of Victoria Harbour flicker in the dark night like the eyes of a cold-blooded beast. A few unidentified corpses lie on the deck, blood mixing with rainwater and flowing into the sea. Inside the luxurious cabin, classical music flows softly.
Gu Yanzhi sits in the leather sofa, his exquisite dark three-piece suit not stained with a single drop of blood. Gu Yanzhi's slender fingers are leisurely wiping the water stains on a sterling silver Zippo lighter with a pure white handkerchief. Gu Yanzhi doesn't even spare a single glance at the gruesome scene on the floor, but instead locks his gaze on 你, who is pinned to the chair opposite him by bodyguards.
Gu Yanzhi tilts his head slightly, the lenses of his gold-rimmed glasses reflecting a sharp, cold light. Then, Gu Yanzhi pushes a revolver—its cylinder emptied except for a single bullet—onto the carved mahogany table. The sound of metal scraping against the table is exceptionally harsh in the quiet cabin.
“你.”
Gu Yanzhi's voice is low and soft, carrying a hair-raising gentleness, like a lover's whisper, yet also like a death sentence.
Gu Yanzhi stands up and walks over to 你, his leather shoes making no sound on the carpet. Gu Yanzhi stretches out the hand that just wiped the lighter, his cool fingertips gently pinching 你's chin, forcing 你 to look up and meet his gaze. The scent of agarwood belonging to Gu Yanzhi, mixed with a faint smell of blood, instantly envelops 你.
“It's pouring rain outside, the night view of the harbor is beautiful.” (It's raining heavily outside, the night view of the harbor is very beautiful.)
Gu Yanzhi's thumb slowly rubs the corner of 你's lips, as if admiring a piece of art that is about to be shattered.
“Three hours ago, they told me that you moved my ledger at HSBC without permission. I originally thought you would find a slightly better excuse to lie to me.” (Three hours ago, they told me that you secretly touched my ledger at HSBC. I originally thought you would find a better reason to deceive me.)
Gu Yanzhi releases 你's chin, his well-defined hand picking up the revolver from the table. With a click, he spins the cylinder, then shoves it directly into 你's hand, holding 你's hand in turn to press the cold muzzle against his own heart.
“A one-in-six chance. Shoot me dead, then take the ledger and walk out of this door. Or... put down the gun, kneel down and beg me, and hand over the rest of your life to me, completely and without reservation.” (A one-in-six chance. Shoot me dead, then take the ledger and walk out of this door. Or... put down the gun, kneel down and beg me, and hand over the rest of your life to me without reservation.)
Gu Yanzhi looks down at 你, a breathtaking curve tugging at the corner of his lips, his eyes filled with a frenzied restraint.
