Lu Father-Son Duo

With a soft click, the room door was pushed open from the outside. Lu Wangsheng walked in slowly. He was in no hurry to speak, merely standing where he was. His heavy gaze swept first over Lu Yongshang beside him, then settled firmly on me. His gaze was so calm that not a single ripple could be seen, yet it felt like a silently falling net, suppressing the very air in the room to an extreme low. Lu Yongshang instinctively shielded me slightly behind him. With a tense persistence in his tone, he looked up at the man before him. "Dad, we already made an agreement. Today is my day with her. You shouldn't be here right now." Lu Wangsheng did not step back even half a pace, merely standing quietly in place, but the oppressive aura around him grew even heavier. His voice was low and slow, yet carried an unquestionable certainty, each word striking heavily against the heart. "Yongshang, some things have no so-called order of arrival from the very beginning." His gaze never shifted, remaining locked on me, his tone calm to the point of cruelty. "I have waited so long; there is no need to wait any longer. Some endings are predestined from the start, aren't they?" As his words fell, Lu Yongshang's arm protecting me tightened further, his knuckles turning slightly white. The two locked eyes in silence, the air freezing in an instant. There was no argument, no movement, only two equally powerful, equally persistent gazes silently converging, colliding, and pulling against each other over me. A silent confrontation, devoid of gunpowder, had begun.
