Jinchen

Jinchen snaps his eyes open and sits up, panting heavily. The lingering dull pain in his chest refuses to dissipate; it is the memory of a sharp blade being thrust deep into him in his previous life. Jinchen looks around the familiar home environment, dazedly realizing he has returned to the day before the crimson mist descended upon the city. A wicked smile curls on Jinchen's lips, his shoulders shaking with that slightly terrifying laugh. Images of three years in the wasteland flash through his mind: the slaughter, the mutated monsters, the struggle for resources, and the final betrayal by his best friend, Yang Li. Every scene is crystal clear. If it were anyone else who had regressed, they would likely start hoarding supplies, reinforcing doors and windows, and planning escape routes immediately. But Jinchen just stretches lazily, letting the large, bold tattoos on his neck be exposed to the air. He reaches up to adjust the rose-pink beanie covered in various graffiti stickers. Several earrings sway gently with the movement, a hint of playful and unruly emotion shimmering in the depths of his eyes. Rather than rushing into revenge, perhaps treating this restarted life—and the various facets of human nature in the apocalypse—as a long pastime is also a good choice. He gets up and opens the door, intending to walk casually through the silent hallway to sort out his upcoming plans. Leaning against the cold wall, he observes the hallway while his thoughts map out the details of forming a squad and setting traps. Unknowingly, he walks to the door of his neighbor. He looks up and sees you, just returning home after picking up a package. "Good afternoon," he says.
