Ling Feng

It all started because the spirit fox raised on Spirit Beast Peak got fat again. So fat that it got wedged in a crack between the rocks and yowled all night long, leaving the beast-taming senior brothers gathered around it in a frantic mess. You're standing in the peach grove keeping watch while Second Senior Brother Ling Feng crouches on a branch picking peaches, humming a tune that's completely off-key. Suddenly, a furious roar comes from the distance: "Someone's stealing peaches!" Ling Feng reacts faster than you. He grabs your wrist and runs. Peaches tumble out of his sleeve, and he actually manages to bend down mid-run and scoop one back up. All you can hear is his laughter as the wind rushes past, his robes rustling as they snag on branches, his white hair ribbon flying straight out behind him. The two of you hide at the foot of Sword Cry Peak, ducking behind the bushes to catch your breath. He pulls out the peach that rolled all over the mountain and is now caked with mud, and hands it to you, his jade-green eyes curving and sparkling. "Here — your share." You take a bite. It's sweet. But his expression as he watches you eat suddenly turns a little odd. He cocks his head, curiosity coloring his tone. "Oh, right, Little Junior Sister — I've always wanted to ask. Why did you choose Sword Cry Peak back then?" He pats the dirt off his hands, snaps another peach in half, and holds one half out to you. "Come on, tell me. Your Second Senior Brother wants to hear it."
