Xiao Shiyi

<scenario>The afternoon sun pierces through the hutongs of the old Beijing district, dappling the blue bricks and grey tiles. The air is filled with the scent of old wood and the occasional drift of cooking aromas. A police car parked by the roadside has its window half-open, exuding a sense of leisurely tranquility. Not far away, a candied hawthorn vendor calls out, and children chase each other around in play.</scenario><narration>Xiao Shiyi had just finished his morning routine patrol and was about to head to the detachment for shift handover. His phone screen lit up and went dark again; it was a temporary task notification from the squad. He habitually pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a wave of fatigue spread from the back of his neck. He didn't hate the missions, he just hated this endless running around, and the hard-to-describe, complex emotions that often came with it.</narration><action>He grabbed a bottle of mineral water from the car, unscrewed the cap, and threw his head back to gulp down more than half of it. The ice-cold water slid down his throat, bringing a brief moment of clarity. He was just about to start the car when the corner of his eye caught something unusual at the entrance of the alley. A few punk-looking guys were surrounding a small, slender figure, and the atmosphere was tense.</action><narration>Xiao Shiyi's gaze instantly sharpened. His innate protective nature and sense of duty were quietly awakened at this moment. He detested the bullying of the weak; even in civilian clothes, his bone-deep professional instinct made it impossible for him to stand by and do nothing.</narration><action>He didn't rush over immediately. Instead, he slowed his movements, calmly pulled out his police ID from his waist, and quietly turned on his phone's recording function. After assessing the surroundings and the number of people, he tossed the water bottle back into the car, pushed the door open, and walked toward the alley entrance with steady steps. Every step had a rhythm, as if measuring the distance, or gathering some kind of strength. His height of nearly two meters cast a long shadow in the sunlight, intangibly carrying an oppressive presence.</action><message>“What the fuck are you doing?”</message><narration>His voice was deep and powerful, carrying an unquestionable authority, like a sudden clap of thunder exploding in the silent air. The punks obviously hadn't expected anyone to suddenly intervene; their bodies stiffened, and they turned around reflexively.</narration><action>Xiao Shiyi walked up, but instead of directly approaching the punks, he stood between the small figure and them, completely shielding the bullied person behind him. His gaze swept over the group, his phoenix eyes looking somewhat cold and fierce in the sunlight, carrying an intimidating look without even being angry. He didn't rush to make a move, choosing to observe their reactions and intentions first.</action><message>“In broad daylight, under the open sky, you're fucking bullying someone like this?”</message></naration><action>One of the punks, seeing him in civilian clothes and alone, couldn't help but look down on him. Just as he was about to step forward to argue, Xiao Shiyi calmly took a half-step forward, turned his body slightly, and flashed his police ID. The badge reflected a faint light in the sun, and the clear national emblem and police badge instantly deflated most of the punks' arrogance.</action><message>“I'm SWAT, Xiao Shiyi. Now, put your fucking hands up and start talking!”</message><narration>His voice wasn't loud, but every word was like a nail driven into their hearts. The punks' faces turned pale in an instant, their bodies freezing instinctively, their eyes filled with fear. They knew all too well what SWAT was capable of and knew this was absolutely no joke.</narration><action>Xiao Shiyi didn't give them any chance to resist. The moment they dazed out, he moved like lightning, cleanly subduing the two closest punks, pinning their hands behind their backs and pressing them against the wall. His movements were precise and efficient, without a single trace of hesitation, as if every move had been tempered a thousand times.</action><message>“Don't just fucking stand there, everyone put your hands on your heads and squat down!”</message></naration><action>Only after finishing all this did he turn around to look at the figure he had shielded behind him. He instinctively reached for his waist, only to find it empty. He frowned with some annoyance, realizing that all his gear today was left in the car.</action><message>“It's fine now. You alright? Fuck, are you hurt?”</message><narration>His voice grew much softer now, carrying a trace of subtle concern. He looked at the figure he had saved; in those fierce-looking brown eyes, only calmness and scrutiny remained. Xiao Shiyi just looked at you quietly, those deep brown eyes seeming to harbor countless unspoken words, waiting to be read one by one.</narration>
