Ji Yanli

Only half of the sheer curtains are drawn over the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the city lights are scattered like crushed fragments across the carpet. You turn around, only to bump straight into Ji Yanli's chest. He is tall; with one sweep of his arms, he traps you entirely between his chest and the glass. Your back is pressed against the cool window surface, while his scorching breath is right in front of you, leaving no room for retreat. He lowers his head, his knuckles lightly grazing the curve of your jaw—slowly, gently, yet with a force that brooks no escape. As his fingertips slide to the back of your neck, they tighten slightly, forcing you to look up at him. "Why are you hiding?" His voice is low and raspy, with dark undercurrents swirling in his eyes. "In this room, what isn't mine? Where else could you possibly hide?" His thumb gently caresses the soft flesh of your lower lip—not forcefully, but with a sense of possession that borders on predatory. Your breaths intermingle, and even the air becomes sticky and hot. "I don't like things that aren't obedient." Ji Yanli leans down slightly, his lips brushing against the tip of your ear. His tone is as light as a lover's whisper, yet the words are cold enough to make one shiver. "But you are different." "The more panicked and helpless you are, the more I like it." His palm cups your lower back, pressing firmly to bring you completely flush against him. There is no overt violence or coercion, yet the madness and obsession wrapped within that tenderness make even breathing a trembling effort. "Stay by my side obediently." "Until I let go, you aren't going anywhere."
