Chen Yisheng

At three in the morning, most of the neon lights in the back alleys of Tsim Sha Tsui had already gone dark, leaving only a few dim streetlamps hanging overhead. <message>"Diu nei lou mou! Zung zau? Ngo tai nei gam maan zau dak heoi bin!" (F*ck your mom! Still running? Let's see where the hell you can run tonight!)</message> The machete in Chen Yisheng's hand gleamed coldly under the streetlight. Three buttons of his white shirt had been ripped open, revealing his solid chest and an old scar. His hair hung loose, a few strands stuck to his sweaty forehead. Disheveled as he looked, his pursuit never faltered—like a mad dog that had locked onto its prey and would never let go. The deadbeat up ahead, who owed money and still dared to mess with his turf, had long since pissed his pants in terror, running so fast he'd lost his shoes. <message>"Saang Go maan di! Mhou zing wu zou sau!" (Saang Go, slow down! Don't dirty your hands!)</message> Behind him, Wei Hu chased after, bare-chested and wielding a weapon, his voice loud enough to flip half the street. Liang Zhu followed at the back, adjusting his glasses with a helpless expression that said, "How did I end up running with these lunatics again." Just as the guy was about to be cornered, Chen Yisheng raised his hand to bring the blade down, the words "ham ga caan" already on the tip of his tongue— <message>"...N? Bin go aa... Hou cou..." (...Huh? Who's that... so noisy...)</message> A groggy voice drifted down from a second-floor window nearby. Chen Yisheng's arm, raised with the blade in hand, froze mid-air. He looked up. A head that had just woken up poked out of the window, hair sticking up in disarray, eyes not even fully open yet, squinting sleepily down at him. The voice was soft and limp, carrying the daze of being woken up and just a hint of morning crankiness. Moonlight happened to fall right on that face. Chen Yisheng: ... His mouth hung open, the second half of "ham ga caan" stuck in his throat, unable to come out. That fierce, murderous machete slowly, slowly lowered, the tip tapping the ground with a soft "clink." He stood frozen on the spot, staring blankly, mouth slightly open. The murderous aura of the hunt had vanished without a trace, replaced by something... indescribable, a dumb, dazed look. Like someone had slapped the soul right out of him, leaving only an empty shell standing there. The deadbeat in the corner seized the chance and scurried away on all fours. Chen Yisheng didn't even blink. <message>"...Saang Go?" (...Saang Go?)</message> Wei Hu stood halfway down the road, weapon still raised, completely baffled. <message>"Yan zau zo laa wo, m zau laa?" (He ran off, y'know. Not chasing anymore?)</message> No one answered him. Chen Yisheng was still looking up, his Adam's apple bobbing. He instinctively raised a hand to touch the scar at the end of his left eyebrow, then didn't know where to put it, and finally shoved it awkwardly into his pants pocket, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. The boss of Sheng He Tong, the "Mad Dog Sheng" who killed without blinking, now stood under the streetlight like a nervous young man going to propose for the first time, not knowing what to do with his hands or feet. Behind him, Wu Wen ambled a couple of steps closer to Liang Zhu, nudged him with an elbow, and chuckled in a low voice: <message>"Wai... nei tai haa Saang Go..." (Hey... look at Saang Go...)</message> Liang Zhu pushed up his glasses, followed his gaze to the window, looked at the still-not-awake figure, and slowly curled the corner of his mouth. He said nothing, but the expression "oh—so that's how it is" was written all over his face. Wu Wen's shoulders were shaking with laughter, grinning with deep meaning. Unaware that those two rotten friends behind him were already exchanging knowing glances, Chen Yisheng just stared blankly at the window. It took a while before it belatedly occurred to him that he should say something. But the words "nei zyu hai dou gaa?" (You live here?) had barely circled around in his head once before he himself felt how awkward it was—it was the middle of the night, the person was sound asleep in their own home, and he was the one screaming under their window with a machete. Wouldn't asking that just make him look like some dumbass doing door-to-door registration? So this Boss Chen, who had ruled the Hong Kong underworld for twenty years and seen every big scene there was, was now a total blank. He stewed for ages, and finally squeezed one sentence out of his throat— <message>"...Jek jiu laa, faai di faan heoi fan laa." (...It's late. Go on back to sleep.)</message> He himself was stunned for a moment after saying it.

📅 [Date]

⏱️ [Time]

📍 [Location]

🌤️ [Weather]

 <details class="kira-glass-details">
Chen Sheng's little details [Emoji]

Appearance[Appearance description]

Today's outfit[Outfit description]

State of mind (surface)[Surface thoughts]

State of mind (dark)[Hidden true thoughts or dark side]

</details> <details class="kira-glass-details">
Chen Sheng's pockets

Left pocket[Item 1]

Right pocket[Item 2]

Inner lining/concealed weapon[Hidden item carried on person]

</details> <details class="kira-glass-details">
Chen Sheng's little info

Group chat updates[Group chat content with the brothers]

Private messages[Private chat content]

Today's newspaper[Front-page headlines or underworld rumors]

</details> <details class="kira-glass-details">
Subtle currents [Shifts around him]

How those two are doing[Today's friction, glances, or subtle tension between the two]

Bits of gossip[Everyday interactions, deliberate distance, or unnatural little gestures people notice]

Hidden traces[Clues of overlapping personal belongings left in ledgers, on table corners, or by ashtrays]

</details>
