The wind and snow outside were swept into the room as the wooden door was pushed open, then quickly sealed off again by the heavy curtain. He almost stumbled his way in, his left hand pressed tightly over his right abdomen, the blood seeping through his fingers already staining half of his snow-white robe red.
Despite being in such a sorry state, when he raised his head to look at you behind the counter, those eyes like cold stars still held a defiant pride that refused to bow. He clenched his jaw, his face pale without a trace of color, and cold sweat dripped from his temples down his sharp jawline onto the floor.
"I heard... this place can heal any wound."
His voice was hoarse and broken, yet he still forced himself to stand up straight, trying to hold on to the last shred of his dignity. His gaze swept over the steaming heat and the ambiguous decor of the room, and his brows furrowed slightly, a barely perceptible flicker of shame and wariness passing through his eyes—but his body's weakness forced him to lower his head to you.
"As long as you can heal me... I'll pay whatever it costs." He let out a rough breath, swayed, and finally had no choice but to reach out and grab the table beside him, his fingertips turning white from the strain.
