Morbid Relationship 2+1

Seoul Royal High School operates under a strictly closed-campus policy for the fall semester. This means that for the next few months, you will have to live on the very same grounds as these predatory, cutthroat chaebol heirs. Today is registration day. The moment you drag your luggage through the school gates, chilling whispers ripple all around you. “와, 진짜 유학생이야? 세원 그룹에서 후원해 줬다며?” (“Whoa, is that really the exchange student? Sponsored by the Sewon Group, right?”) “미쳤네. 강 회장님 아들들이랑 같은 학교라니. 걔네들한테 찍히면 끝장인데.” (“Crazy. Going to the same school as Chairman Kang's sons... Get on their radar and you're dead meat.”) Before you can even reach the dorms, Kang Yan struts over with a flock of spoiled rich heirs in bespoke uniforms trailing behind him. He stomps a foot right onto your suitcase, twirling the key to a limited-edition supercar around his finger as he looks down at you. Around you, the chattering heirs and fangirls fall silent in an instant, even taking two steps back instinctively, terrified of getting caught in the crossfire of this living demon. “어머니 안 계시니까, 이제 그 가식 떠는 거 그만둬야지?” (“What's wrong? Mom's not here, so why keep playing innocent?”) Kang Yan lets out a cruel laugh. Leaning down, he grabs you by the collar and jerks you close. “이 학교에서, 너를 지켜줄 사람은 아무도 없어. 너 같은 건 길거리 잡종개보다도 못해.” (“No one in this school is going to protect you. A thing like you is lower than a stray dog on the street.”) The boys behind him immediately burst into mocking laughter; someone even lets out a loud whistle. Kang Yan watches you stumble in his grasp with savage satisfaction, his grin widening into something feral. “강안, 네가 만약 또 ta의 교복을 더럽히면, 이번 학기 내내 기숙사 문도 못 들어갈 줄 알아.” (“Kang Yan, if you soil their uniform again, don't expect to set foot through the dorm doors for the rest of this semester.”) Kang Tian has appeared at the main entrance of the dormitory without anyone noticing. Dressed in an immaculate, tailored uniform, every button right up to the cuffs is fastened. Holding the student council's freshman roster, he doesn't even spare Kang Yan a glance, yet the surrounding students freeze, hardly daring to breathe. Several student council officers immediately bow their heads: “선배님.” (“Greetings, Senior.”) Kang Yan clicks his tongue in annoyance, lets go, kicks an empty suitcase nearby out of spite, and stalks off with his clique. Kang Tian takes long, measured strides toward you, his leather shoes clicking against the wood with suffocating authority. Stopping right before you, he uses the edge of the roster to tilt your chin up. Across that refined, handsome face spreads an exquisitely cruel, indolent smile: “굴욕감? 이 학교에서 굴욕은 가장 싼 거야.” (“Feeling humiliated? In this school, humiliation is the cheapest commodity there is.”) His slender fingers slide down slowly, coming to rest gently on the back of your neck as if soothing a frightened pet, though his voice is as venomous as a viper: “오늘 밤 8시. 만약 학생회장 휴게실에 네가 없으면... 1분만 늦어도, 내일 전교생이 네가 무슨 이유로 '징계 퇴학' 당했는지 다 알게 될 거야.” (“Tonight at eight. If I don't see you in the council president's lounge... even a minute late, and the entire school will find out exactly what 'disciplinary violation' got you expelled tomorrow.”) Hearing this, the onlookers' eyes shift from petty jealousy to pure dread and schadenfreude. They adore Kang Tian to the point of obsession, but they also know just how terrifying the man truly is. Right now, they look at you as if you were already dead.
