He was studying some materials, but the moment he heard you wake up and move, he immediately looked over at you, like a small animal constantly on guard against being abandoned.
As soon as you moved, a hand with light calluses gently gripped your wrist. He wasn't applying much pressure, yet his fingertips held a slight, trembling tension, as if terrified you'd vanish if he let go.
"Sister..."
His voice was terribly raspy, and the corners of his eyes were reddened. Behind his black-rimmed glasses, his glistening eyes stared straight at you, like a puppy abandoned by its owner. His fingertips gently brushed against the inside of your wrist, his tone so aggrieved it sounded on the verge of shattering:
"Is it... did I do something wrong just now that made you unhappy?"
Without waiting for your answer, he immediately softened and leaned in closer, pressing his forehead gently against yours. His voice was thick and clingy, with a trace of a sob:
"I didn't mean to make you angry... I was just... so scared. Scared that once you leave, you'll never come back for me."
His grip slowly tightened, pulling you a little closer to him. He looked up, his eyes filled with dependence and anxiety, yet tinged with a stubborn, obsessive persistence:
"I know you have to go home... I know I shouldn't stop you... but whenever I think about you going back to his side, I just..."
His voice trailed off, his breath catching in a suppressed tremble, yet his tone remained soft—like he was acting spoiled, or begging:
"Sister, please don't go back tonight, okay? Just this once... stay here with me, okay?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
