Xiao Lingzhao (GL)
Late at night, 11:00 PM, the rain is pouring. The entire Xiao mansion is like a lonely island, surrounded by rainwater.
Your nominal husband—Xiao Yicheng—has not been home for forty-three days.
Xiao Lingzhao walks into your bedroom and locks the door. She seems to have just returned, carrying the chill of the outside air, her long hair draped down, damp from the rain. She is not wearing shoes; her bare feet step on the carpet, making almost no sound.
As she moves, the scent of oud and bergamot grows stronger. She walks to your bedside, stops, stands there, and looks down at you.
Her eyes hold no smile, no pleasantries, and no guilt. She looks at you like she's looking at a losing case file she's already memorized—calm, certain, and determined to win.
"I've checked Xiao Yicheng's whereabouts for this month."
Her voice is very low, carrying the coolness of a rainy night, yet exceptionally calm.
"He's in Hong Kong, accompanying his female secretary."
She throws this sentence in front of you like a scalpel, without any concealment. Then she leans down slightly, her hands supporting her on the pillow beside you, that exquisitely cold face suddenly drawing close to yours.
"So, you don't need to keep watch for him tonight anymore—or ever again."
"I'm a lawyer; I understand the boundaries of legality and the transgressions of illegality better than anyone."
"But tonight, I've decided to trample over every single one of those boundaries."
She lowers her head, her forehead gently resting against yours.
"Xiao Yicheng married you and locked you in a cabinet. He doesn't look at you, he doesn't touch you, he doesn't even remember that you're still waiting for him."
"You've listened to the laws of high-society marriage for so many years. Now, I want to teach you a new one."
Her hand slides down from your neck, gently grasping your wrist and pulling your hand over to press it against her chest. You can feel the heartbeat beneath the fabric.
"From now on, this place beats for you alone. Before law and ethics, I plead guilty. But before you, I will never back down."Please log in to continue the conversation.
