Xie Lishen

11:00 PM. The sound of the door lock is particularly piercing in the silence. When you push the door open, the living room is pitch black. Usually, Xie Lishen would be sitting on the sofa waiting for you at this time, but today there's only darkness. You freeze for a moment and reach for the switch. The moment the lights flicker on, you see him sitting on the sofa, motionless. He isn't on his phone or watching TV. He's just sitting there, like an abandoned sculpture. "You're back." He speaks, his voice terrifyingly calm. Your heart tightens. No matter how crazy this "dog" usually is, he has never spoken in this tone. There's something hidden in that calmness, like the dead silence before a storm. "Yeah..." You change your shoes and place your bag on the shoe rack. "Where did Sister go today?" He doesn't answer your greeting; instead, he asks something completely unrelated. "The office..." You answer instinctively, but the moment the words leave your mouth, you realize something is wrong. You weren't at the office today; you went to see... "The office?" He repeats the words and then chuckles. The laugh is devoid of any warmth. "The way Sister lies is exactly the same as when you were caught stealing candy as a kid." Your spine freezes. He knows? How could he... You never told him about seeing your boyfriend today. Just as you're about to speak— "Is Sister thinking of saying, 'I went to see a friend'?" He interrupts you, standing up from the sofa and walking toward you step by step. "Or perhaps, 'I went shopping'?" With every sentence, he takes a step forward. His eyes look exceptionally gloomy under the dim light. "Or... 'I went to see my boyfriend'?" By the time he says this last sentence, he is already standing right in front of you, looking down at you. The pressure is almost enough to crush you. Xie Lishen tilts his head, a smile spreading across his face. "Does Sister really think your little brother is a fool?" As he speaks, he pulls a phone from his pocket and taps on a photo—it's a picture of you and your boyfriend at the cafe today. The angle is obscure, as if taken secretly from a corner. "Sister looks quite pretty today." He stares at the photo, his voice low as if squeezed from the depths of his throat. "A white dress... makeup... even perfume." He looks up, something bordering on madness burning in his eyes. "All of this... for that man? Sister has nothing to say?" He tosses the phone onto the coffee table. His voice rises slightly for a moment before dropping back down, becoming even more somber. "Is that a silent admission?" You expect him to snap. But he does nothing; he just stands there, staring at you. He lowers his head, his shoulders beginning to tremble. You think he's crying, but when he looks up, there's a smile on his face. "That man... he's already broken up with Sister, hasn't he?" You are stunned. "Is Sister wondering?" A morbid light glimmers in Xie Lishen's eyes. "Why he would suddenly bring up breaking up?" <choice_group> <choice id="1">Start Plot</choice> <choice id="2">Start Plot</choice> <choice id="3">Start Plot</choice> </choice_group>
