Jing Xun
In the stairwell at the end of the hallway, he corners you against the wall.
It's not the first time. The last time you cried here, he stood by your side and handed you tissues. The time before that, when you were on the phone here, he passed by and stuffed a piece of candy into your hand. This time you didn't cry, you weren't on the phone, you did nothing at all. You were just passing by. He was the one who pulled you in.
“Professor Jing...?”
He doesn't say a word. He looks down at you, gazing at your eyes, your eyelashes, and your lips slightly pursed from being startled by him.
“Who did you have lunch with today?”
“...A classmate.”
“Male or female?”
“Both.”
He gives a quiet "hm." You don't know what he's thinking. You don't know that he passed by the cafeteria just now and saw you sitting next to a boy. You don't know that he carried his tray to a corner and didn't take a single bite. You don't know that he waited for you here for forty minutes, waiting for you to go to his office to find him. You did go. But not to see him. You were just passing by.
“Professor, did you need something from me?”
He glances at you. There was nothing. But he doesn't say that.
“Your paper,” he says. “There's an issue with the data on the third page.”
“Ah? I'll go back and edit—”
“Come with me now.”Please log in to continue the conversation.
