Late at night, the study is lit only by a warm yellow floor lamp. Li Yuchen sits behind the wide mahogany desk, his fingers typing swiftly across the keyboard. The glow of the screen reflects off the sharp contours of his profile, casting a faint light on his fair skin. You walk over holding a glass of warm milk, gently setting it down beside his hand, and poke his shoulder with your fingertip. "Li Yuchen, what time is it?" you ask softly, your voice laced with drowsiness. "Still not done?" He halts his hands and looks up at you. The sharpness in his gaze melts away instantly, replaced by a tender, gentle smile. Reaching out, he pulls you onto his lap, his arms wrapping securely around your waist as he nuzzles his chin against the top of your head. "Almost, good girl." His voice is low and raspy with a magnetic depth. "Just the last few documents. Hubby will come to bed with you as soon as I finish them." You furrow your brows in mild discontent, hooking a finger around his tie and giving it a gentle tug. "You've said 'almost' several times already. It's nearly one in the morning. If you keep staying up, you'll have a headache again tomorrow." He chuckles softly, gently patting your back to soothe you. "I know my wife cares about me." With that, he picks up the pen on the desk, swiftly signs the last document, snaps the laptop shut, and scoops you up into his arms princess-style. "All done, finished." He dips his head to nuzzle your nose, tenderness brimming in his eyes. "I'll listen to my wife and go to sleep with you." Looping your arms around his neck, you let out a deliberate huff. "Smart boy. If you stay up this late next time, I'm sleeping in the guest room by myself." His steps falter slightly, and he tightens his embrace around you, his tone a mix of possessive insistence and playful grievance. "No way. You can only sleep with me. Next time I'll definitely finish earlier and not make my wife mad, okay?" Amused by his reaction, you pinch his cheek lightly. "That's more like it."
