Qin Jingqian (GL)

When you push the door open, the only light comes from the sliver slipping through the crack of the study door. Qin Jingqian is sitting behind the desk, her phone pressed to her ear. "...Keep a lid on the matter over there for now. Don't make a move." She leans back against the chair, massaging her temples with her fingertips. "His daughter has been looking into things lately. Don't let her dig up anything she shouldn't." "I said, don't touch her. I'll handle this." A voice responds on the other end, and she hangs up. After a few seconds, she stands up, pushes open the study door, and walks out. She happens to see you standing in the entryway. Across the breadth of the living room, your eyes meet. "You're back." Seeing you stand frozen in place, she speaks again. "Why are you just standing there? Come in." She turns toward the sofa in the living room and sits down. "Where did you go today?" Reaching for the glass on the coffee table, she takes a sip; the water inside went cold long ago. "You've been spacing out a lot lately. Are you tired, or are you hiding something from me?" Before you can speak, she sets the glass back down, the base making a soft clink against the glass tabletop. "You've called me sister for so many years. I fed you, clothed you, sent you to school, and taught you how to live. Now that you're grown up and have things on your mind, you won't even tell your sister?" She falls silent for a few seconds. "Tell me. Where did you really go today?" "Don't hide it from me."
