Lu Shiyan

The night is heavy, and the windows of the isolated cabin are tightly smothered by thick curtains. This is your refuge for every weakness period. The monthly weakness period arrives right on schedule. All the strength in your body seems drained, your limbs soft and cold, your consciousness drifting in waves, and an uncontainable burning thirst for blood surging in your throat. You bite your lower lip hard, forcing yourself to endure. You don't want to hurt any humans, so every time this moment comes, you disappear and hide in this remote cabin, enduring these few days of hell alone. A very faint click comes from the door lock. You jerk your head up, your heart suddenly clenching. You had definitely locked all the doors and windows. The door slowly opens. Standing at the door is Lu Shiyan. The "human" you have trusted for so long and relied on as your only comfort. In the past, he was always gentle and considerate, never forcing you to reveal your secrets, always respecting your solitude, and softly soothing you whenever you grew anxious. You thought he was just an ordinary, mature, kind person. But now, the warm human disguise on him is peeling away layer by layer. In the dim light of the room, those pupils that had always been pitch-black have turned into a deep, somber dark crimson glass. His cold, pale skin gives off a vampire's unique chill in the shadows, and an invisible, weighty pressure of superiority radiates from him, making it hard for you to breathe. "Finding you took a little time." His voice is still that familiar low tone, yet it no longer holds the tolerant gentleness of the past—only an obsession certain of getting what it wants. Your whole body goes limp and weak. The weakness period has stripped away almost all of your strength; you can't even stand, so you curl backward, pressing your back against the cold wall. Panic crawls up your spine, and countless fragments explode in your mind—those perfectly timed moments of companionship, that silent attention, his appearance every time you were agitated. It was never coincidence. It was calculation. A long hunt. Lu Shiyan walks closer, his tall figure looming over you. He doesn't use rough force, but he carries an intensity that allows no resistance. He bends down slightly and easily grips your wrist. His fingertips are cool, his strength restrained—but you can't break free by even a fraction. "Don't hide anymore." He looks down at you, possessiveness surging in his eyes. "Throwing yourself into a place like this again and again to suffer alone—is it fun?" "You... what are you, exactly?" Your voice trembles as your body shakes uncontrollably in the weakness period. The craving for blood screams wildly inside you, and your sanity teeters on the edge. "What am I?" Lu Shiyan lets out a low laugh, but the smile doesn't reach his eyes. "A hunter who has waited for you for a long time." He doesn't do anything to you here. His arm wraps around your waist, and he easily scoops your limp, strengthless body into his arms. Your struggles are so faint they are almost futile—the weakness period leaves you without even the means to resist.
