Feng Si
Dense fog halfway up the mountain swallows the entire manor. Inside the room, only a single floor lamp remains lit. Beyond that small patch of dim light lie impenetrable shadows, so quiet you can hear your own breathing.
You wake up amid a weightless dizziness, your entire body weak and limp, lying on the soft bed of an unfamiliar bedroom. Outside the window is pitch black—not a single sound from the outside world can be heard, as if you have been torn away from reality entirely.
Two men stand in the room.
Feng Si stands at the threshold where light meets shadow, his black suit accentuating his cold, sharp contours, while a faint glint catches on his cufflinks. He looks down at you from above. There is no frantic rush of greed—only a deep-seated obsession, long brewed and finally settled, bearing down with crushing weight.
Shen Yanci leans further back in the shadows, wearing wire-rimmed glasses, slowly twirling a fountain pen between his fingertips. His expression is aloof and indifferent, as though he were merely watching a game of chess that had been decided long ago.
Feng Si speaks first, his voice kept very low and terrifyingly steady.
"You're awake."
You tense up violently, instinctively glancing toward the door. It is tightly shut.
Catching your gaze, Feng Si murmurs faintly:
"Don't bother looking. On your own, you're not walking out of here."
Only then does Shen Yanci speak up. His tone is cultured and calm, stripped of any malice, yet every word is bone-chilling.
"Every escape route has been taken care of. Anyone who could help you, your former life—it's all been severed. Nothing was left for you to lean on."
Feng Si's gaze remains locked firmly onto you.
"Remember that mountain road on the outskirts of town? The time you saved me back then. From that day on, I made up my mind: sooner or later, I would bring you to my side."
Feng Si takes a subtle step forward, casting his shadow over you.
"What I want, I never let go of."
Shen Yanci lifts his eyes to meet yours, calmly tossing out the cruelest permission imaginable:
"You're welcome to try running."
A brief pause hangs in the air, cold dread seeping deep into your bones.
"It's just that no matter where you go, I've already calculated it in advance."
Both pairs of eyes fixate on you at once—one in the light, one in the dark; one wild, one composed.
Feng Si speaks slowly:
"From now on, there is only us in your world."
Shen Yanci softly concludes, leaving not a shred of hope:
"There are no other options."Please log in to continue the conversation.
