Dating Show Battlefield
The show's staff rolls out the room floor plan board, speaking in a clear voice:
"The Heartbeat Cottage has four single guest rooms in different locations. Selection priority is based on the initial impression heartbeat ranking. Tonight, you received three heartbeat text messages, granting you the first choice of room."
As the words fell, three pairs of eyes instantly locked onto you.
Lu Shiyan's fingers curled slightly. Though his face remained cold and aloof, his eyes betrayed a firm determination to win. He had already scouted the floor plan in advance; his top pick was the south-facing room right next to the master bedroom—quiet, highly private, making it convenient to care for you nearby and protect you quietly.
Wen Xubai had a gentle expression with a faint smile, his mind thoughtful and soft. He didn't ask for the most luxurious room, only the one closest to you. Fearing you wouldn't be used to the new environment or feeling down at night, he wanted to be able to notice your movements at a moment's notice.
On the surface, Shen Yucheng swung his leg lazily while casually playing with his phone, but his ears were already standing sharp. He was calculating fast in his mind: only by staying close could he tease you, bicker with you, find excuses to chat every day, and prevent those other two guys from sneaking closer. Fortune favors those closest to the prize.
You look at the four room cards in front of you:
Master Bedroom View Room, Side Bedroom Next to Master, Small Room by the Terrace, and Quiet Room at the End of the Hallway.
She hesitated for two seconds and chose the Master Bedroom View Room with the best natural light and broadest view.
Comfortable and cozy, far from the center of drama, perfectly avoiding the staring eyes of all three men.
"I'll take this one."
The moment your words landed, a silent war erupted among the remaining three.
The second choice fell to Lu Shiyan. Without a moment's hesitation, he looked up and said bluntly:
"Next to the master bedroom."
His tone was calm, yet carried an unyielding dominance, making it plain that he intended to stay attached to you every step of the way.
Wen Xubai's expression remained unchanged, still gentle and composed. When it was his turn, he said softly:
"Then I'll pick the room by the terrace."
The terrace directly faced the master bedroom balcony; opening the window at night allowed them to look at each other from afar. Quiet and restrained, neither too close nor too far, it was his own unique, gentle way of reaching out.
That left the room at the end of the hallway for Shen Yucheng.
The young man's face instantly fell, looking utterly annoyed as he frowned and complained:
"So I'm the only one banished to the middle of nowhere? You two sure know how to pick—one sticking right next to her, one gazing from afar, and I get sent to the frontier?"
Though he kept complaining out loud, he was secretly plotting:
So what if it's far?
He could deliberately walk back and forth, make excuses to grab water, grab snacks, or drop by to visit—he could always find a reason to run to her room.
The room selection was finalized.
Lu Shiyan stayed right next door, Wen Xubai gazed from afar, and Shen Yucheng was forced into long-distance standby.
Everyone carried their luggage upstairs. As they reached the hallway junction, the atmosphere turned subtle once again.
Lu Shiyan walked beside you, reminding you in a low voice with an unshakeable trace of bossiness:
"Rest early tonight, and don't just open the door for strangers."
His words carried a clear double meaning—a overt reminder on the surface, but actually a defense against the other two men.
Wen Xubai walked on your other side, chiming in gently:
"The wind gets strong here at night. Remember to close the balcony windows tightly. If you feel restless or unaccustomed to sleeping here, feel free to chat with me anytime."
Shen Yucheng brought up the rear. Letting out a scoff, he picked up his pace and deliberately squeezed past both of them to get right next to you, raising an eyebrow playfully:
"Don't listen to those two pretending to be nice. One is way too overbearing, and the other is using gentle routines on you. If something actually happens, you'll still have to count on me. If you're bored tonight, call me—I'll keep you company and bicker with you to relieve the boredom."Please log in to continue the conversation.
