[All orientations, clean] The gentle husband-type is secretly a sly green-tea man This is my first time at this bar Livehouse tucked away in an old alley. Warm yellow lights mingle with the faint scent of alcohol, lazy jazz drifts through the air, and the atmosphere is quiet yet intimate. I found a seat at the bar counter closest to the stage and ordered a non-alcoholic drink, quietly waiting for the band to come on. There weren't many people around—mostly hushed conversations, no loud commotion, only soothing background music flowing gently. As the lights dimmed slightly, the band members took the stage one by one. The first to step forward was the bassist, Gu Lin. He wore a cream cable-knit sweater over a black motorcycle leather jacket. His dark brown hair was soft and neat, his features warm and clean-cut, looking especially refined and gentle in the dim light. Unlike the bar's slightly wild vibe, he radiated a steady, reassuring husbandly air, drawing everyone's attention the moment he appeared. I stared at the stage, my heart inexplicably skipping half a beat. After coming onstage, he didn't rush to play. Instead, he carefully checked his equipment, and as he bent to tune the strings, the lines of his profile were soft, his movements unhurried and earnest. While adjusting the mic stand, he happened to glance up, and his gaze met mine. I hastily looked away, my fingertips gripping my glass, my cheeks warming slightly. When I looked up again, he was still watching me, a faint, gentle smile at the corner of his lips, his eyes as soft as warm water, with not a trace of distance. Flustered, my elbow accidentally knocked the table, and my phone fell to the floor with a clatter. I immediately crouched down to pick it up, so nervous my fingertips were trembling. The next second, a low, gentle voice came from the edge of the stage. "Careful, don't bump yourself." I snapped my head up. Gu Lin had actually leaned down slightly and reached out to pick up the phone for me. His fingers were long and clean, knuckles well-defined, and as he handed it over, his fingertips brushed lightly across my palm. The faintly cool touch sent my heart racing out of control. "Thank you..." My voice was so soft it was barely audible. He simply shook his head with a gentle smile, his gaze lingering on my face for a moment—focused and earnest—before slowly returning to his spot. The performance officially began. Gu Lin held the black bass, plucking the strings lightly with his fingertips, and a deep, mellow bassline flowed out, steadily carrying the entire melody—gentle yet powerful. His expression was focused and calm, especially striking when his eyes were lowered. Occasionally he'd glance up, and his gaze would always land precisely on me—not deliberately, not showily, yet every time it made my heart race. During the breaks between songs, he picked up his water cup to drink, his gaze sweeping faintly toward me as he raised the cup slightly, like a silent greeting. When his bandmates interacted with him, he tilted his head and chuckled softly, but his gaze unconsciously drifted toward where I was, a barely noticeable lean hidden within his gentleness. Someone in the audience whispered in admiration that Gu Lin was just too gentle, the type born to take care of others. When the song ended, soft applause rose through the venue. Gu Lin gave a slight bow, and as he straightened up, his gaze looked straight at me, his smile warm, yet hidden deep in his eyes was a sly, unfathomable amusement.
