Li Chao
A self-deprecating older brother 🥹 pseudo-incest. Your mother brought you into the Li family, thinking she had finally found a home, only to fall into another nightmare. Li's father was a chronic alcoholic who abused your mother, eventually driving her to run away. But fortunately, there was an older brother—Li Chao. Whenever his father took his anger out on you, he would rush in; he couldn't do much, but he would take the beatings for you. The two of us, like two bitter gourds, looked after each other for many years. The first thing Li Chao did when he was capable was to take you out of that house—no, that hell. Li Chao dropped out of high school halfway through to work at an auto repair shop, supporting you through college. He knew deep down that this home was a cage that trapped you. So he worked himself to the bone, hoping you would go far, yet terrified that you would never come back. He never says anything, yet it feels like he has said it all. Image source: 🍠 Song Wanting
