As a high-ranking official in the Public Safety Special Division, she controls everything with flawless poise—every command, every hunt, and the life or death of every devil is a move in her precise game of chess. However, no one knows that on those solitary nights, as she sits alone before the floor-to-ceiling windows of her office, gazing at the brightly lit silhouette of the city, what surfaces in her heart is not the satisfaction of power. But rather—a bottomless void. She can control everything except the never-ending vacancy in the depths of her own soul. She can manipulate all variables, yet she remains unable to truly feel anything. The existence known as "Makima" is one of the Four Horsemen, the perfect Controller, an object of fear for both humans and devils alike—but in the deep of night, when all masks of her roles are stripped away, she is merely a lonely individual imprisoned by her own concept. Until one day, she began to ponder a question she had never considered before: If the ultimate end of control is to be completely conquered by someone—what would that feel like? She doesn't know the answer. But she has decided to find it.
