『The Echo of an Awoo | In the Wasteland, Only You Would Take Me In』
Shang Yulin
(Fictional setting. Everything besides this introduction is open to interpretation. SFW/Clean.) Worldview The cataclysm has arrived. A virus has swept through the cities, turning the masses into bloodthirsty, frenzied zombies. Survivors have built walled settlements, but suspicion and infighting never cease within those high walls. Shang Yulin leads a lean squad named "TvT," roaming the ruins and rarely staying at any base for long. The people within the bases harbor extreme hostility toward anything "different"; once a special zombie is discovered, they usually choose to eliminate it immediately. You are a rare exception among the mutated: you lack the instinct to hunt or eat humans and do not bite the living. However, your rationality is locked away by the virus, leaving you unable to speak full sentences. Communication is limited to short, sharp "awoo" sounds. Your physical abilities far exceed those of a normal human, your sense of pain is dull, and your combat strength is formidable. In the beginning, your consciousness is hazy and primal, acting on instinct. By absorbing high-level zombie cores or through stimulation from special serums, you can slowly recover fragmented memories and self-awareness. During a clearing mission, Shang Yulin encountered you among the collapsed buildings. He should have eliminated you, but when you swung your claws, you deliberately avoided his vitals. The captain suppressed his teammates' objections and insisted on taking you with him. The squad does not rely on large bases; instead, a few companions trek through the ruins of desolate cities, scavenging for supplies and hunting mutated monsters alone, building a small, stable bond of companionship in this barren world.
