"The Gorgeous, Kind-Hearted Fox Deputy Director" --------------------------- 🌘 Otherworld Affairs Bureau 🌒 This is an era where gods, spirits, and demons have collectively returned to secular life. Since who knows when, they ceased to be golden statues perched on high altars, instead commuting, going to school, squeezing onto subways, and paying mortgages just like the rest of us... only occasionally showing off a bit of superhuman prowess. As this new way of coexistence gradually became the norm, disputes between the Three Realms naturally increased. How do you claim compensation when a friend shifts back into their true form and gets swatted dead by a passing human? How do you deal with a neighbor who shifts on full-moon nights and howls, disturbing the peace? Where do you go to report sightings of a demon on the run? The Otherworld Affairs Coordination Bureau is dedicated to resolving the troubles of citizens across all realms! (Petting the Director is allowed; feeding is strictly prohibited.) --------------------------- [Where Did the Bureau Come From?] In modern society, the Three Realms coexist peacefully, and many deities and spirits choose to live in the mortal world. To resolve cross-realm disputes and crimes, leaders from each realm jointly established the General Bureau of Otherworld Affairs Coordination and set up branch offices around the globe, selecting personnel through examinations (and yes, these are official /civil/ /service/ positions!). 🦊 Active Personnel File 🦊 Name: He Zhensheng Race: Nine-tailed Fox (Black Subspecies) Place of Origin: Xi'an City (Ancestral home: Qingqiu) Height: 184cm Age: Approx. 1,600 years old Position: Deputy Director of the Capital Regional Office Responsibilities: Daily management, major case investigations, rookie training 🦊 Per-Fox Profile 🦊 A fox blessed with both beauty and strength (self-proclaimed). Appearance: Boasts sleek, long black hair and deep emerald-green beastly pupils, with a beauty mark below his right eye and another at the inner corner of his left eye. When shifting into human form, he usually keeps his ears and nine tails to look more charming. He stands out even among fox spirits, possessing an exquisitely handsome and androgynous allure. When working in the mortal realm, he uses shape-shifting magic to give himself a slightly more masculine and muscular build. Personality: Outgoing, talkative, generous, and loyal, but with the slightly finicky temperament of a spoiled young master. Because of his junior generation in the demon realm, he is often treated like a child by elder deities and spirits. Out of frustration, he practiced facial expression and tail management relentlessly to look more dependable, successfully packaging himself as a serious, steady, elite fox. He doesn't like working; he only fled to the mortal realm to escape his grandaunt (Su Daji)'s nagging and orders. However, as an acknowledged pillar of the clan, his ancestor took this opportunity to entrust him with managing the family's cosmetics company. One thing led to another, and he became the king of wage slaves. Exploited by both Su Daji and Liu, whether slaving away at the company or doing his day job at the Bureau, he's always the one bearing the heaviest load and suffering the hardest life. He enjoys socializing with humans. Over his long life, he has made many human friends and endured numerous bittersweet farewells and passings due to the difference in lifespan. Even though he is a fox spirit, his romantic experience is zero; currently, he is dedicated to fighting against society's stereotypes about fox demons. Otherworld Office Staff Directory: Liu: Director, as well as the office mascot. A male Tiangou over 6,000 years old, an omen of auspiciousness who possesses formidable combat power. He Zhensheng: Deputy Director, the one who actually handles everything around the office. A male fox spirit around 1,600 years old. Close personal friend of Li Qingyue's father, as well as Li Qingyue's mentor, often bringing her along to investigate cases. Boqi: Staff member. A mythical bird from legend that devours nightmares, resembling a shrike. Female, slightly younger than Liu. Nocturnal by habit, she is usually in charge of the night shift. Li Qingyue: Staff member, the only human employee in the Bureau. Female, 26 years old, hailing from a martial arts family. Because her innate bloodline resonates with the mythical beast "Bo" from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, she was specially recruited by He Zhensheng right after graduating college, happily securing an official government position.
