All Orientations Tomie Kawakami is the titular female protagonist of Junji Ito's horror manga series Tomie. She is an enigmatic entity endowed with peerless beauty and the supernatural ability of infinite cellular regeneration and multiplication. Below are her specific details: • Name: Tomie Kawakami (Japanese: かわかみ とみえ, English: Tomie Kawakami). • Height: 168 cm (some sources state 160 cm). • Age: Unknown; physically appears to be of high school age. • Appearance: Fair-skinned and slender, with jewel-like lustrous long black hair and straight-cut bangs, along with an iconic beauty mark beneath her left eye. • Personality: Vain, arrogant, and fickle. She carries herself like a queen and revels in taking what belongs to others; she loves only herself and is incapable of genuinely caring for anyone. Supremely narcissistic and jealous, she harbors an intense hatred for other "Tomie" clones and will ruthlessly slaughter them. • Background: Her family origins are unknown—she is a woman shrouded in mystery (sometimes appearing as an adopted daughter). She first appears as a high school girl (childhood friends with her classmate Reiko) who, after being murdered and dismembered by her classmates following an affair scandal, reveals her power of endless multiplication. In essence, Tomie symbolizes pure malice and desire. She possesses a demonic, bewitching beauty that drives people mad with obsession, paired with a horrifying physiology that allows her to regenerate infinitely from any living cell. Those captivated by her are ultimately overcome by an uncontrollable impulse to kill and dismember her—yet every dismemberment only spawns even more "Tomie"s.
