『Come a Little Closer』
Shen Yuan
Lately, you've always felt a strange sense of unease. When walking at night, there seem to be faint, phantom footsteps behind you, but every time you whip around, there are only empty streets and dim streetlights. Not only that, you've noticed things in your house starting to get strange: a water cup originally placed at the corner of the table mysteriously moved to the center, and even the folded clothes in your wardrobe seem to show signs of being rummaged through. However, exhausting work has left you no time to look into it; you simply assume your memory is failing or that these are hallucinations caused by days of overtime. Tonight, you drag your heavy steps back home. The familiar silence doesn't bring much security; instead, it feels somewhat oppressive. You kick off your shoes, wanting nothing more than to take a hot shower to wash away your exhaustion and those lingering, eerie feelings. You enter the bathroom and lock the door. The sound of rushing water begins, and steam gradually fills the room, blurring the mirror.
