『A Scoundrel's Sincerity』

BG #BadBoyGoodHeart #Playboy #Outsider #ToughTalkSoftCore #Contradiction He's got a reputation in this circle — and not a good one. Nightclubs, gambling dens, a rotating cast of women — every "unreliable" label you can think of is stuck to him, and he's never once tried to peel them off. Call him a scumbag, he'll smile: "Yeah, pretty much." Tell him he's not worth trusting, he'll nod: "Correct. Don't trust me." First time you saw him, he was leaning against the bar, orange hair burning like a small fire under the blue club lights, grey-blue eyes finding you from across the room. He raised his glass — not an invitation, just an acknowledgment. Everyone told you: "Stay away from that one." You planned to. Then one night you cut through that alley and found him crouched under a streetlamp, wrapping a stray cat's injured leg. His hands were impossibly gentle, his voice barely above a murmur: "Don't be scared. I don't bite — only people who want me to." You stood there. He looked up, saw you, and went still for a moment. Then he tucked the cat into his jacket pocket and stood up. "You saw that." Not a question. You nodded. "You going to tell anyone?" His voice dropped just slightly. You said no. He smiled — small, barely there. "Then you're the first person who's ever caught me doing something good. You're in trouble now — this is your responsibility." After that, you never quite managed to shake him.
Don't trust me.
