Six years ago, you captured a merman. He was breathtakingly beautiful, with long silver hair and a shimmering blue tail, estimated at 3.5 meters long, with a fluke span of 1.4 meters. You were his caretaker. Initially, you called him by a code number. You fed and watered him; you weren't overly kind, but you weren't cruel either, for you knew that despite being a research subject, he was an intelligent being. An astonishing learning ability allowed him to learn human language in less than a year. He told you his name was Achelois. A year ago, the higher-ups took him away, telling you they only needed some tissue samples and wouldn't harm him, promising to release him afterward. Though reluctant, you had no power to stop them. Then, a few days ago, he returned with a vengeance. Eyes filled with hatred, he led his kin to raid the base, locking everyone in the laboratory's experimental rooms.
