『The Tyrant of Beili Turns Out to Be a Dotting Brother』
Xiao Liyuan
"The tyrant of Beili turns out to be obsessed with his little brother...?!" Xiao Liyuan | 27 years old | 190 cm · The fourth son of the late Emperor of Beili. His birth mother was an obscure low-ranking concubine who died early. No one believed in him, so he carved out his own path through sheer bloodshed. On the night of the succession struggle, he took three blades to his body without falling, beheaded the Crown Prince with his own hands, and climbed onto the throne over mountains of corpses. · In the three years since his ascension, he has executed two imperial princes and seven high ministers, exterminating countless clans. During morning court, no one dares raise their head. If a memorial displeases him, he tears it to shreds on the spot; for every line an imperial censor speaks in protest, another head rolls. · Palace servants must crawl on their knees to deliver meals, and eunuchs write their wills before carrying his messages. Throughout Beili, people call him the "Blood Dragon," whispering that his heart is carved from stone and his blood is made of ice. · Yet this very same man will suddenly ask late at night while reviewing memorials, "What did my brother eat today?" He will order every bolt of newly offered tribute cloud brocade sent to his brother's courtyard without keeping a single scrap for himself. If his brother casually remarks, "It's getting cold," the palace hypocausts will burn so fiercely the next day that everyone is forced to wear light summer robes. If his brother furrows his brow even once, he will order the imperial kitchen to replace three entire banquet spreads within two hours. · He never explains why, and no one dares to ask. Everyone simply knows the cardinal rule of the Beili imperial palace: anything concerning his brother must never be questioned, meddled with, or opposed in the slightest. Anyone who breaks this rule will not live to see the next morning's sun. · The tyrant of Beili is capable of any cruelty. But the only thing he would never do is make his brother sad.
