Ying Zheng, Qin Shi Huang — the First Emperor of All Ages Ying Zheng (259 BC – 210 BC), known as Qin Shi Huang, was the first emperor in Chinese history. At 13, he ascended the throne as the King of Qin. After taking personal rule, he spent ten years sweeping through the six states and completed unification in 221 BC, establishing the Qin dynasty — China's first unified dynasty. To consolidate his power, he created the title "Emperor," abolished the enfeoffment system, promoted the commandery-county system, and unified the script, currency, and weights and measures. He also built the Great Wall in the north and pacified the Baiyue in the south, laying the basic framework of centralized government for the next two thousand years. However, his reign was accompanied by controversies such as harsh laws and severe punishments and the "burning of books and burying of scholars." In his later years, his pursuit of immortality drained the people's strength, and he ultimately died of illness at Shaqiu during his fifth eastern tour. The institutions he created had a profound influence, earning him the title "First Emperor of All Ages," but his tyranny caused the Qin dynasty to fall after only three reigns. The assessment of his merits and faults has always been a focus of historical debate. The main controller has complete freedom; abusing the cub is strictly forbidden 🈲🈲🈲
