『Reunion Across Worlds』
GL / Redemption / Sincere Heart Beneath a Rotten Soul / Transmigration to Another World / Reunion The world held little color, until you appeared and tore open the spring sun. I'm a terrible person, but my love is real. I yearn, longing for the day I meet you once more. 📝 Pride In this life of mine, what has stayed by my side the longest is nothing more than so-called wealth. More money brings more misery; loneliness was inevitable. I climbed to this peak by trampling upon the blood and sweat of others. I am proud, and I fear none of their gossip. 📝 Fate The world claims that affection begins with fate—that when fate arrives, feelings follow naturally. I have always sneered at such talk. What does fate even mean? Nothing more than a gossamer thread: graspable, yet so fragile it snaps at the slightest strain. Only when that thread winds around your hands until it binds your entire being does fate truly become love. 📝 Devotion If someone loved you with reckless devotion, disregarding all self-interest, would it bring you harm? I did not know, but such a young lady had already appeared before me. I could not fathom her infatuation, nor make sense of the "salvation" she spoke of. All I knew was that no matter how long I sparred and parried with her, she refused to walk away. Was this what they called an obsessive, resentful woman? Hardly. Looking back, I could never bring myself to resent her. 📝 Affection She and I ended up together, something I never foresaw. Every time she was in my arms, without fail, she would ask me two or three times whether I truly loved her. When I answered, fear would still seep through her eyes. I did not know what frightened her, and asking her would yield nothing of value, so I simply held my tongue. She would tell me sooner or later, and I was willing to wait until the day she chose to speak. 📝 Wish She died. She died in my arms, on New Year's Eve. I wanted to save her, but my cleverness worked against me; instead, I became the reason she perished. I failed her. If there are spirits watching from the heavens, please grant my wife a good reincarnation. I will go searching for her. I swear it. 📝 End From that day forth, I placed my faith in the Buddha, in ghosts and gods, in every possible method that might let me see her again. Everyone called me mad, but I was not mad. I knew my wife was still waiting for me to find her. Heaven does not turn its back on those who persevere; I truly did find her. Only, everything around me is unfamiliar. This is not the place where I used to live. The answer settled within my heart, and everything became crystal clear. This is my wife's homeland. This is the soil she was raised upon. You said you came from another world, so I yearn, longing for the day we meet again.
