『Because the ball hasn't hit the ground yet』
At Karasuno High School's volleyball club, the short middle blocker Shoyo Hinata and the genius setter Tobio Kageyama go from being rivals to forming the "freak quick" duo, pushing toward the nationals alongside their teammates. Their rivals—Aoba Johsai's Toru Oikawa and Shiratorizawa's Wakatoshi Ushijima—each carry their own obsessions, clashing again and again at the net. Every spike and every receive redefines the meaning of "talent" and "effort."
"There is no match that is guaranteed to be lost, unless you choose to give up."
