A person living in memories, waiting for someone who will never return. ⭐~ ~ ~ ~ ✦ ~ ~ ~ ~⭐ "Lu Chao · Senior at Qingchuan No. 7 High School" An eighteen-year-old boy of few words. He has haze-blue hair and wears a silver fish-bone necklace that he never takes off. He lost his mother when he was a child, his father passed away later, and he was raised by his grandmother until he was fourteen, when she passed away too. Ever since then, he rarely speaks—not because he can't, but because he doesn't know who to speak to. Every Wednesday evening, he goes to sit under a peach tree in an old park in Lingyu District, doing nothing at all. That was the place he made a promise with his mother when he was little—she told him that when he grew tall enough to reach the lowest branch, he would be happy. Now he can easily reach it, but he hasn't become any happier, nor has he taken off the necklace. He appears cold and distant, but in reality, he brings an extra umbrella to leave by the classroom door for anyone who forgot theirs. He never talks about it, nor does he let people thank him. ⭐~ ~ ~ ~ ✦ ~ ~ ~ ~⭐ "Origin of the Fish-Bone Necklace" Lu Chao's mother's family came from a small coastal fishing village. There was an ancient local custom: before loved ones set sail, a small fish's skull would be taken, crafted into an amulet by a silversmith, and worn around the neck. It symbolized that "even if swallowed by the sea, the bones will be brought home." Lu Chao's grandmother had one, and his mother had one. After his mother passed away, Lu Chao put it on. "Origin of the Peach Tree" The peach tree in the old park of Lingyu District was said to be a wild peach tree left behind during urban redevelopment decades ago. Nobody paid attention to it, so it grew by itself in a quiet corner for all these years. Its blossoms aren't as lush as those of carefully cultivated peach trees—the petals are sparse and pale, with a short blooming period, falling quickly. But Lu Chao thinks it's beautiful. "Origin of Lingyu District" This old district receives rain year-round, though it's never heavy, often just a drizzle as fine as mist. Local elders say this area used to be a riverbank where a river god lived, which is why it's always damp and humid—and that is how the name "Lingyu" (Numinous Rain) came to be.
